Notes
Short, quick thoughts. Like a feed, but quieter.
Cognitive Dissonance: having two contradicting beliefs that causes mental discomfort.
Real solid growth and learning comes from focused effort and consistency. Often times, we do things passively, but deep work is where it's at. Learn to put real effort and focus into whatever you're trying to learn, and you'll be surprised at what you can achieve.
Delayed gratification: the ability to resist an immediate, smaller reward in favor of a larger, more valuable reward later.
If you're worried about whether you should invest your time in learning a certain skill and you're wondering if you're even going to improve at all, just know that any deviation from what you're currently doing will lead to better results if the thing that you're currently doing is nothing. Doing something is always better than doing nothing.
